Home Addition May Require a Long Decision Making Process

John and Fran first called Heartlands Building Company in 2007 inquiring about adding a screen room to their Wildwood home. At that time, they weren’t ready to commit to the expense for the design they originally had in mind.  Four years later, upon seeing another Heartlands ad, they called back, requesting a new solution for their outdoor living area. This time, Larry presented them with something really different; a screen room with a deck set beneath it, leading across the back of the home. In addition, he proposed adding of a folding door that would completely open their breakfast room to the screen room with an unobstructed view to the lake beyond. When the project was completed, they sent this nice note:

“We have been meaning to send an email to you to tell you how much we enjoy our entire project.  We could not be more pleased with the design, the workmanship, the appearance, and the functionality of the entire project.  The screen room, with the Wieland door is absolutely awesome.  Some of your design ideas, while we appreciated them when you included them, are much more beneficial than even we expected.  The 9-foot ceiling height of the screen room makes for a very open feeling, and allows a great view from inside the kitchen.  The walkway to the concrete patio is perfect.  The low-voltage lighting is wonderful.  The lower deck and the walkway turned out to be terrific - we would have never thought of locating the deck below the screen room, and it is a delightful area.”

This year, another couple, Paul and Diane called Heartlands 6 years after their original inquiry about re doing their existing screen room. Upon hearing the news that someone else had taken even longer to decide, John and Fran replied: “While we are heartbroken at losing the record, we are delighted another family will get to enjoy the benefits of Heartlands.” Despite the record high temperatures this summer, they  replied: “Even with the intense heat, the roof and the special insulating sheets you installed, makes the space still usable and especially after sunset using the fans, it is quite enjoyable. We are fully convinced that we will never tire of the room, or of the deck below.  If the new record holders are like us, the changes in the plan, from the first proposal to the finished project, will make the wait absolutely worth while.  We are as happy with the project as we can be.”

We certainly appreciate the kind words and while we understand the necessity to take your time when making such a big decision, please don’t try to break the new record!
